Add a call to the Purlock Email address checker API on the server side of this app. Send GET https://www.purlock.com/v1/tools/email-checker?target=VALUE with the header "Authorization: Bearer" and the PURLOCK_API_KEY environment variable. The JSON answer has status ("good", "attention" or "bad"), headline, checks (each with level, title, detail, fix) and data. If the call fails or times out after 3 seconds, carry on as if it wasn't there. Never put the API key in client code.

Does it confirm the mailbox exists?
No, and be wary of tools that promise to. Asking mail servers about a mailbox is often wrong, and it gets your servers blocked. This checks everything that can be known without doing that. A confirmation email is the only real proof.
Do you store the addresses I check?
No. We check the address and don't keep it.
Can I use it at sign up?
Yes. It's available through the Purlock API, and it answers quickly enough to run on every sign up.
